Silly, I suppose but does anyone on here have a good picture of the hood brackets & spring already installed on a '47 Ford car? And any hints or tricks to getting the hood aligned and centered? Thanks, Johnny
This explanation from an old Street Rod Builder Magazine might be able to help you.
Sorry its a bit hard to read but if you copy the pictures to your picture file you can blow them up a bit.
Basically the trick is to let the fenders go loose, fit the hood to the cowl and get it working properly and the gap right and then fit the fenders to the hood.
Thanx 47Merc, That's helpfull but first I need to see close-up pics of the hinges mounted to the body & hood. The brackets & hood were off the car when I bought it and would now like to put them back on. Thanks again
If you can get a copy of the May/June issue of the V-8 Times there is an article about aligning the 1941 to 1948 hood. It also has some pictures. You might be able to download this article from the V-8 Club web site.
