Homemade Radiator Mascots

When the Model "A" was new, there was a fad to put a radiator mascot on them. Many of these mascots were homemade. I am looking for ideas for homemade radiator mascots. If you have a homemade mascot, please post a photo of it.

I found a old Dance contest trophy with two dancers on it. It looked nice on the model A

Bob, The Model T'ers don't take their cars as seriously as Model A'ers do. You might look on the Model T forum for ideas. I like the Model T radiator mascot of a cherub who pees on people who walk up to the radiator. There is a hose and squirt bulb in the cab.

I've seen everything from Kangaroos and Koalas to lighthouses and Michelin Man, windmills to propellers. As I type, I'm waiting for my 2 part liquid silicone mould making material to be back in stock so I can finish a Kangaroo mascot. I figure the original would be stolen for sure but a polyurethane one doesn't matter.

In the movie Paper Moon the Model A roadster in it has a propeller radiator cap if I remember correctly.JC Witney had two or more pages of hood ornaments years ago, some even lit up !

A hood mascot on an F 250 is cute but if the truck hit a pedestrian and they flew up on the hood, I can see a law suit. The new RR's have a retractable flying lady hood mascot for safety. My friend with his 1937 RR would remove the mascot when parked so that it would not get stolen and replace it with an inexpensive plastic lady. He would get complaints from passerbys that the plastic hood mascot was not original.

I'd say if you hit a pedestrian your already kinda in for a lawsuit, don't think the hood ornament is really going to make too much difference!

This is off what I think was a29 Chevvy. It’s very fragile old potmetal. I’d like to remove the old radiator cap part, but I haven’t figured out a way to safely do that. I’ll take suggestions if anybody has an idea how to.

get it 3d-scanned, print it in something thermo-plasticky and cast your copies…
