Home plating...more copycad pics.

As requested, here's a few more photos of parts I've plated using the Caswell copycad system.

The finish you see was achieved by fine beadblasting each part and pretty must just following the instruction booklet.
The book (which they include) shows you how to select a power supply and suggests ways to create your own supply...regulated with light bulbs. You can also plate things one at a time with a flashlight battery.:)

Craig, Thanks a lot for posting more photos of your cad plating. It really looks good in my opinion. Is it possible with their kit, to get the finish a little more silver or "whiter" in color?

One more comparison

This last pic illustrates my efforts on the left
...and 3 new old stock parts on the right in "real" cadmium plate.
1 starter switch
1 brake switch
1 column clamp (bought as NOS Ford)
The copycad look can be altered further with wire brushing and various cleaners which I'm still messing with each time I set up.
.....I believe that platers never stop experimenting!
