Home Made Luggage Box

I wanted a Luggage Box but thought the Repro one's were far to expensive, so with some help, here at the Ford Barn, I built my own. Can't remember exactly where here on the site I found some basic plans and built the box. It came out, not as great as I wanted but better than I expected. Have posted a few photo's on my "User CP" (wi0v) if anyone else wants to build one. Contact me if you need any other information. Sorry, don't know exactly how to attach a Photo to this post.

Gary – very nicely constructed luggage box. If you have more photos of the construction phase or perhaps a sketch and list of materials that you could add to your Luggage Box album, it would help others who might want to build their own version based on what you did.

A couple of members in our club (Napa Valley A’s), myself included, have built their own trunks, some of metal but most of wood. Some attempt to mimic trunks available in the 1928-1931 era and some are merely functional containers, albeit nice looking.

Additionally the “How to Restore Your Model A Ford” series have 3 articles on this: “A trunk Rack You Can Make For Your Model A” (Volume 3, pages 112-115), “Build Your Own Luggage Rack for Under $50” (Volume 7 page 95) and “Building a Model A Trunk” (Volume 7, pages 96-101).

Very nice looking - thanks for sharing.
Would be very interested in seeing the plans/instructions if you ever find them again...

Thanks for finding the plans I used. I started the project a year ago and didn't remember where I found them. Someone, maybe you, pointed me to them but lost the post.
