Holley 94 cargb on Model A

Looking for some suggestion on jets and power valves for one Holley 94 carb on a Model A. The engine is .060 bore, counter balanced crank, a small performance cam, 37# flywheel drilled for 9in. V8 clutch, stock head for now. It's going in a stock restored 31 roadster. My thought was maybe 48 jets, and maybe 4.5 power valve. Does anyone have a differant suggestion? Thanks Walt

I personally would use adjustable jets with a tad larger primary jets and a 55 or 65 PV. That way you can be a little lean on the primary side and when the vacuum drops on WOT you can get full fuel. Also, a lot of this combo has to do with the physical condition of the carb (i.e. who rebuilt it!!). If it leaks air internally, the PV signal will be skewed. My vote for rebuilder is Rudy Faltermeier in Spartanburg, SC. Others are probably just as good but my experience has been with only two people, ...Charlie Price w/ Vintage Speed, and Rudy. I would not recommend Charlie to my worst enemy, and Rudy is the prince as far as 94's go IMHO.

Just install it, and see where it is at, and then go from there.

Frankly, the jets are sized to provide an approx 15:1 fuel mix that is the same for 200 cid and/or 239 cid (flathead). The power valve, with one carb should be pretty much stock, 7 or 7.5, depending on your elevation.

I started with 50 and moved to 53. Both worked well but 53 was better. There are lots of Holley 94's but I think the 8BA is best.
