here is my new engine hoist plate. used an intake from a 59ab as a template. wondering after i was home,.....will this fit a 37 (21 stud) as well? maybe i should have made two...... just was wondering before i find out the hard way (as is everything else with these engines for the newbie). planning on swaping the 37 21 stud engine to the 48 24 stud engine on sunday....... hoping to avoid any glitches...thanx CP

Yes, it'll fit all motors. Mine is very similar. Have fun with the installation. Brian

Looks but needs multiple hookups to compensate for trans weight!

Buy or borrow an engine leveler and you will not have to worry about continually shifting holes until you find the right balance. Besides, you can shift the balance while you are lifting or lowering engine with a balancer, and not have to set engine down, reposition the hole, and hook it up again. Balancers are a dream to use.

You guys have too much time on your hands. Way overkill, but then again it was fun making it huh.

Here is a picture of mine I made a few years ago, guess it was fun but sure came in handy after dragging home the first dozen or so engines. Got tired of monkeying around with lift chain on studs or whatever, and I never cared much for the way some guys selling the engine always say they have a way to get it in your truck for you. Also a good way to get a peek at a possible rust filled valve chamber.

i like that best, i may modify mine after seeing that. i was gonna not weld and drill a few holes.....but i got caught in the moment....started welding and then....oh sh*&$*^&%. the plate warped due to the heat. so then i heated the backside and it straightened out nice.

Yes, with part of the "I" milled off at top, things were getting slow at my place of work before I retired.
