Highest Price Ever Paid?????

Not quite an A but in Hemmings this month there was a 32 speedster at Amelia Island auction reported to have sold for 770,000. One of 3 commissioned by Edsel and Ernest Gregorie

I attended the Texas Tour last month and there were at least 4 400'A's but my 68C was the only one there. Kinda fun bein the only one but I sure would like to have a 400A.

no offense to you Brent, but 32-34 fords are not A's and a 32 will often go for 5x the price of an A................................

I was interested in the original question-by the way

Duesenbergs have gone for up to 10 million-see what I mean?

Since the topic of stainless steel cars was brought up, and whether the first one was a '30 Tudor, or a '36 model, how about this 1925 Model T truck, from the book, 'Ford Trucks Since 1905, by James K. Wagner?

The copy accompanying the Model T says it is made of Monel, I believe that is a grade of stainless, but the other photo says aluminum.

I will submit some photos of Edsel's Dual Cowl Phaeton as soon as admin gives me some kind of security token which, lacking it, blocked me from uploading them.

Interesting, from what I can find on the net, if it really is Monel then it's a nickel-copper alloy with high tensile strength and resistance to corrosion. So neither aluminum nor steel.

Some photos of Edsel's Dual Cowl Phaeton taken at Pebble Beach Concourse in 2014.

Mail trucks and Snowbirds are indeed the exception of course. Trying to establish that Model A Fords are high end collectables is never going to work as they are the common everyday collectable that most everyone can afford on ore two or more ! Wayne
