Model A Canuck

Higgins were one of a hand full of dealers selling Ford products in my hometown of Milton Ontario in the late teens and early 20's and sold alot of model T's during that period. The building that Higgins operated out of was a former power station for the town of Milton.Higgins later bought the building and turned it into a automobile and service station in the early 1920's.The building was torn down in the late 1970's early 80's to make way for a new plaza wich is still on site today. In later years Higgins sold other brands of automobiles and were dealers for IH tractors and trucks in the late 40's.Their service station was agents for B/A (British American)and later Supertest gas and oil products

It reminds me of the old Ford dealership in the little town I grew up in. It closed shop in the early 2000s so folks have to drive to the nearest big town for Ford service now. The old building was demolished but a new one was built right on the same foundation with the shop doors in the same places.

Here is what the building looked like in 1905 when it was still the town power station before it was turned into a Ford garage and service station
