hershey

I just returned from 4 days at Hershey and had a great time. I scored some wonderful NOS parts for my 1935 Ford truck at very reasonable prices, talked to a bunch of friends, made a few new ones, and enjoyed rain-free and sunny days.

The down side is that the vendor stalls are about half full. It's just a sign of the times, but still is sad to see. I expect that Hershey will continue shrinking and I hope AACA manages the process a bit better than just letting people purchase spaces and either not use them or just park their cars.

If you have never been, it's still an amazing experience even with it being "thinner" than in the past. Time marches on!

A good year for Model T and A fans. A lot of $1, $5 and$10 tarp sales. AACA consolidated some fields to fill in the main fields, still some spaces though. Behind the arena 2 rows of stalls and one poor stall out in the middle of God's country. Deals were scattered throughout the fields. There seemed to be less cars for sale in the corral area, but I didn't walk that section. I bought some cool parts and visited with friends I have made over the years there. Definitely worth it. Bought some over-priced chocolate too, just to get back into the house when I got home.

Just got home this afternoon from Hershey the weather was fabulous.
Vendors from a large section of the Red Field have been put in other Fields.
Chocolate North was fairly well filled.
The Chocolate Field had some empty spaces near Chocolate World, but the rest was filled fairly well
The first 2 rows of the Green Field were sparse, but the rest was well filled in.
The Orange Field was the lightest of all at about 85-90% capacity.
We walked the whole thing Monday to Thursday morning.
I sold at my spaces every afternoon for 2 hrs. on Thursday from noon till 5PM
Foot traffic was good all days but on Thursday it practically disappeared by 2 PM
Vendors were starting to pack up at 12 noon Thursday it was a Ghost town on Friday
AACA announced 9000 spaces sold. It appears an effort to consolidate is underway.
My guess is that the Red Field will be gone and the others will be totally filled. There will always be no shows. See Ya next year already made and paid for my Hotel Reservation
