hershey

We are all busy packing and some like me, have already left. (Monday is pack in day, with Tuesday being the 'official' start)

Planning on participating in the National Woodie Meet in Wildwood NJ prior to Hershey. The Race of Gentleman (TROG) is also happening in Wildwood this coming weekend. Should be an interesting time.

It will be my 44th year attending Hershey. Well over half my life I have been there. Do I get excited for it? Not as much as I used to, but I still look forward to attending.
Will it be nice? Will it rain? Will more spots be empty this year? All questions that I have no control over, but I will still be there.

And with the recent discussion here about getting rid of stuff, there might be some items that seem more reasonably priced available.

This may be a good year for bargains at Hershey? I'm anticipating even fewer vendors, but still plenty to keep me walking for 3 days. Prices of cars have come down and the same for parts, so I plan on having fun no matter what shows up. At the end of the show every year I've never left without some "treasure".

A lot of the joy comes from running into people from other parts of the country I only see at Hershey and talking with them. Some day this flea market may only be a memory, so I plan on going as long as it lasts.

I agree. I call them Hershey friends. Those you see once a year, but seems like you've never missed a beat.

Note: Today (Wednesday Sept 30) we drove by Carlise via the PA turnpike.
The field that you see from the turnpike, looks like it was Sunday. Lots of grass.

Hershey has been discussed over in the model A forum. I'm getting my truck & trailer ready and organizing all the restored Ford generators I'm bringing. I plan to be there monday morning. I'll be in south chocolate CJ 69-70.

Hersey has been on my list of trips for awhile and this year my wife and I finally making the trip from southern Illinois. Plan on spending a day and half there. Will be in the area for the week. Anyone have suggestions on what else to do and see while out there. Automotive, railroad, oh and crafty/antique stuff for my bride. Thanks fellas

You will find lots of antique stores in the area and surrounding areas. The AACA and EMMR museums are worth your time as well.
1.5 days at the swap meet may not be enough, also....
Travel safe!

There are a couple of great antique shops to browse. (Black Swan, Crossroads Antique Mall)
On your way back to IL, you could stop in Altoona and see the world famous Horseshoe Curve
You have to visit Chocolate World at Hershey Park.
Strasburg is not too far away -- Strasbury Railway and PA Railroad Museum.

And I agree, a day and a half will get maybe 2 of the 4 swap fields covered

I’ve only been to Hershey a few times (2019, 2023, and 2025), and last year went to TROG as well for the first time. I did notice a decrease in vendors over those years.

Harv check out Adamstown, PA for antiques. Its worth the 45 minute drive from Hershey. And if you are there on a Friday you can take in the Green Dragon Amish farmers market or the Ephrata Cloister for some history. Lots of very good pretzel bakeries in that part of PA as well.

Marc 49, my wife would tell your wife to leave you on the fields at Hershey and she is going to the Meadowbrooke Gourd Farm in Carlisle. Im even amazed at the artistic abilities of their craftsman. How people can think up some of those ideas is amazing to me. Take a look at their website.

Could it be that the AACA is slowly accepting hot rods? The wheels on that wagon certainly look a lot like Astro Supremes to me....
