hershey

Hershey was just GREAT; Great weather; great buying; great walking. Just GREAT!!!
It is like going to Mecca for me.
I've already cleared my schedule for next year and counting the days
BTW: Be sure to check the dates for 2018... Hershey 2018 starts AFTER Columbus Day.

Way too many people riding motorized scooters....I thought they were for "old & infirmed".....Lots of young folks riding 4 to a vehicle...lots of empty spaces...The hobby is changing....Great weather though....

Went Friday. One of the best years for weather. NOS stuff seems to be drying up for 42-48 Fords but that's been going on for awhile. I still spent $300 and got some good stuff. Seems like 60's -70's trucks have become very hot along with trucks in general.
Kind of surprised how non original some of the cars where in the car corral. It's still my Christmas day (where I get to buy my own presents, ha!) and I'll go as long as I can walk!

I'm working on a '32 Ford "influenced" scooter. My thought is the body style will detract the organizers from the fact that I'm able-bodied and can walk under my own power just fine.

I just need something to beat out Zach Suhr from getting all the goodies before I do. I will have the mandatory soda cans dangling from the bumpers.

Hershey is constantly evolving. My first year, 1968, was antique cars (mostly '40 and below) and the same type parts. All the activity was centered around the stadium. Now we see late '80s and even some early '90s vehicles on the show field. To some, the later are not antiques although they qualify in AACA standards. We all have to just deal with it and enjoy Hershey for what it is. Weather was great, as was the car show. We can't stop Father Time, we all get old and have to accept change. Already have my hotel reservations for next year.

I've been going to Hershey for many, many years. It has changed but it is still the best show/flea market of the year. Always look forward to it. Walked the whole place twice. Found lots of good flathead parts and saw many old friends. I'm on a gain for next year!

I didn't even see you this year...
I was on a mission to find stuff though this year!

Zach:

That's because I wasn't there. LOL! I had my 25 college reunion Hershey weekend. It was a tough choice where to go.

Hey, I want to touch base with you soon. I'll be in touch.

Had a blast ,weather was fantastic.Still the best auto flea market on Earth.Car show was alsome .It was great to see all my v8 friends. Already started my plans for next year.Thank you

I enjoy Hershey very much. Had to come home Thursday wife mother not doing well. There next year. I got what I wanted so no problem. I hope everyone had a great time as I did.

I had a great time this year even though my wife could not go along. I walked the fields Tuesday and Wednesday and found a few things I needed for my 31 Glaser and 36 coupe. I was going to walk on Thursday morning but decided to sell the few items I took along instead. Traffic was very slow past my spot. Talked to a lot of guys from Germany and Sweden and saw some old friends. Vendors started leaving late Thursday and again Friday afternoon. I hadn't sold anything for a couple of hours, so packed up and left around 3:00. I hope to be there again next year.

Always enjoy being at Hershey no matter how things have changed since I started going in the late 60's/early 70's. There is just no place else on earth like the Fall Hershey Meet. I bought and sold very little this year, but enjoyed every minute I was there meeting up with friends, spending time at the EFV8 Club and Foundation spaces, and seeing all the early Fords and parts.
There were many folks getting around on motorized chairs/carts, and I'm a prime candidate for doing that next year since my legs just can't cover the show like they could in the past.

My son and I stay right on the grounds in our spaces in our camper. Arrived on Tues, left on Saturday. Had a great time and saw a lot of friends. Sold a bunch of parts and bought some things I needed. Stopped at Cabellas on the way north to spend all our profits.....
I cant get around like I used to. Feet swell up if I walk too far. I brought a 4 wheel battery scooter which I rode the grounds with. Went over and got it blessed by ACAA and off I went.
See you all next year!

Here's the '32 Vicky at Herb's request.

It was a great week! I sold just about everything I brought. The weather was great again. I think the empty spots were people that may have been affected by storms etc. The spots are all sold out as far as I know and I understand they are looking to increase the spots by moving a parking area. Anyway I will go as long as I can. Best week of the year! Good friends! Good parts! Good cars!

Could be, ct1932ford. From what I understand though, spots have beenjust about sold out for quite some time. What exactly just about means is anyone's guess.

Thankfully, we are able to get three spots approx. 5-6 years ago. Hershey ebbs and flows, but either way it's always a good time.

Truth be told, I do miss the grass though.

a lot of the empty spacers had cars & suv,s parked in them. people are keaping there spots to park. this schould not be allowed. it would save a lot of walking & make it better for the for the vendors that have stuff to sell. when you walk a long line & it has a very few vendors it,s not fair to the people who have come to buy things. it,s the best place on earth to get stuff for our cars .it should be better manged if people that don,t vend gave up there spots to people that want to vend. you would have a even grator hershey.

This was another Great year at Hershey sold lots of stuff and took the cash to buy lots more stuff to restore my used 1932 Ford flathead V-8 engine. From where I vend the crouds seemed to be larger than previous years.
Good old feebay is not what it used to be the selling charges are now so high many are once again bringing stuff to sell at events like this which is a good thing the way I see it.

I Love HERSHEY! It's a once a year guys trip. I've been going a long time now. Long enough to remember buying an NOS 33 commercial grill for $200! We bring something big for the show on Saturday ever year and this year we brought a 54 Greyhound Scenecruiser. Between the hundreds of parts vendors, hundreds of cars in the car corral and hundreds of cars at the show on Saturday it's just an AWESOME week.
