Hershey

Sorry New guy dumb question.

I see all these post regarding a parts type event in Hershey- which I'm assuming was a rather large event.

Now for the dumb questions

What type of event is this?
Is it a swap meet specific to Antiques?

Is this an annual event they do every year at the same place?
Does it move around from place to place?

Is there more than just this "Hershey" event in a given year? Are there other smaller event held throughout the year?

Which state is this Hershey in, (being from PA) I assume it's chocolate town U.S.A. am in correct?

Last where would I find listings of these future events so I can plan ahead schedule vacations and such?

Largest Swap meet on the continent!!! Held each Year in Hershey, PA. If you can't find what you need there chances are you won't find it. But it takes a few days to see entire thing. Lots of Walking etc.

AACA Eastern Diviison National Fall Meet is the official name of the meet - otherwise just known as "Hershey" to antique, classic and collector car folks. It is the biggest antique car swap meet / flea market in the world and is held the first full week in October (Wed thru Sat) every year at the Hershey Park / Giant Center complex in Herhey Pa. You need 2 to 3 days to adequately scour the swap meet if your looking for stuff.

Yes, welcome to anitique cars and the Fordbarn. If you posted as a true newbie, I still can't believe you live in PA and have never heard of the GIANT swap meet, in yes, "Chocholate" Town USA." IF, ypu posted the question seriously, please read the above post and later ones for full information. When it comes to questions about old cars, most certainly Fords, you have arrived. If you posted in jest, then you have too much time on your hands, as I do this a.m. drinking my coffee and chucklingly at your question. Best regards and Happy Model A'ing. Jim Langley...

Wuudie, don't feel bad.I was 46 years old, 55 now, before I ever heard of Hersey and I live 1 1/2hr away.By the way welcome, glad to see you here.:D

Everybody starts somewhere!
1 It's a giant exhibition of classic cars and a "flea martket" of parts dealers
2- It's in the same place every year.
3- There are smaller events but not at Hershey. For example, this week at Warminster. a few weeks ago at Englishtown raceway, NJ. In a couple of weeks at Pumkin Run and Cowtown, NJ.
4- Pa
5- Look for them. Type in auto swap NE US
When you go to Hershey, Get in shape for it! LOTS of walking. You will enjoy it! And finding a needed part at a good price is the icing on the cake.

It always rains at least one day-be prepared. You'll probably walk 6-8 miles to see every row. $10 to park and free admission can't be beat. Bring lots of water and snacks and Money! And a camera. Someone always knows more than you do. The best flea market days are early, but the judged cars are on Saturday and most of the vendors are gone. If you didn't find what you were looking for, you probably just missed it.

While there are several clubs/chapters (not even going to start with which one is better or should be part of..) I find the MARC (Model A Restorers Club) mag "Model "A" News" a good place to start. Gives you a listing by date and what/where is it.

Welcome :D

Sorry, I am a true Newbie these were legitimate questions and wasn't doing it in Jest.

Living in PA I've heard of the Carlile Corvette show, but never heard of this one.

Put it this way, I have a 9 year old girl and 5 year old boy lived in Easton for the last 10 years, I found out a few months ago Crayola (Crayon Company) has a factory that's like a kids museum.

(If any of you talk to my wife, she'll let you know where I normally have my head buried)

Thanks to, I Will definitly have to get out to this and other events.

Plan on joining MAFCA next pay check, hopefully I'll have more dumb questions coming if I can't find the answers there.
