HERSHEY Plans?

Traffic at Hershey the last few years has been ridiculas, you would think by now they could get it right! Don't think going mid week will be less hectic, tens of thousands of people attend, I leave Frederick about 4 am (1.5 hour drive)to miss the gridlock in the AM, usually easier to get out than in. I always come home sunburnt!

My favorite part is the turn in front of the giant Center onto 39N. Who figured out that two turn lanes should become one within 100'? Still if folks would just take turns it would be fine, but since this is Pennsylvania, that won't happen. Still worth the hassle, though.

My father and I will be set up in spaces CF-73 and CF-74 (across the row from where we were last year) with lots of interesting era Model A magazine advertisements, original sales literature and owners manuals, etc, etc from the US and many European countries. I will also have a selection of foreign pre-1939 Lincoln advertisements, etc.

If you are looking for a specific Model A magazine advertisement, be sure to bring your checklist. I've been cleaning house so will have a good selection.

I will also be selling lots of interesting European oilcans, 1 quart oil cans and petroliana.

Please stop by and say hello, bonjour, guten tag, hej.....would enjoy chatting about Euro Model A's, etc.

Fordially,
Brad in Maryland

We gave up our spaces on the Chocolate Field 5 years ago and just walked around for the last few years. This year I applied for spaces and figured I would be way out at the edge of the show. To my surprise, stickers arrived yesterday and we are on the Red Field. We are right next to the stadium, so i won't have to rent a port-a-potty. The Red field has most of the antique race car stuff as well as most of the brass car guys so it should be a good Hershey. First time for my daughter's boyfriend. My 37th Hershey.

Thanks Roadster62, Ya old boys A sounds like a good thing! Ive been building a 30' AV8 roadster for a wile (get there 1 day) But just bought another 1 (deluxe 30') Seriously how good are Model A's! Hope we can spot ya out be good to have a chin wag.

Booked a spot at High meadow campground last evening. First time going to Hershey for me, really excited! Just going to set up a bed in my enclosed trailer.
The woman I spoke with said there are some spots still available.

Thanks for the input. I'll count my pennies (HA!) and see what it looks like mid October...
I'd go mid-week anyway. Maybe traffic won't be quite as nuts!
Traffic is always NUTS I suggest go in early and stay late to avoid all the traffic...as said before good walking shoes a must and bring a bag so you can carry parts and bring a camera. Also bring water unless it is raining then Hershey brings the water Ha ha!
a must is the car show Saturday morning watch all the cars driving in is the best.....bring a coffee and a chair and sit back and watch then walk into the show for a closer look enjoy.....enjoy ......enjoy!:D

My Jury Duty has been moved to Nov.1 now!!! Alot of shopping and seeing Friends. I might have my Son with me,his leg is in a brace and he cant work..(fell off scoffold) but he loves getting rid of my stuff and B.S ing with people!

Man, I'm gonna miss this years event, and I cannot tell you how much I will miss it. I have been getting more and more into the metal shaping side of this hobby and have been invited to attend an international metal shaping convention in Dennison, Minnesota, preceeded by a national event the week prior in Huntsville, Alabama. I can't pass up on a chance to meet face to face with some world class metal shapers from Australia, Sweden, Finland, Poland and others.

I will miss my best opportunity to acquire cores for gearshift levers, shifter forks and transmission shift towers. Keep me in mind.
