Hershey location of Bratton's?

Mac's isn't either. I did see Gaslight and Dick Spadero and Tam's I think. Reall ynot many vendors at all relatively speaking.

It may be because Dick SpadAro does a lot of used parts along with the new stuff. Brattons I believe is only new repo. Of course it could also have something to do with Dick and Roy (Naceweitz) and some of the others enjoying the experience more than some other owners do.

This is becoming true of nearly every swapmeet. I am planning on Lincoln and Chickasha this next year and likely these will be the last swapmeets I will be taking stuff to. After travel expenses I have lost money on the last 4 I have vended at. More profitable to stay home and list on e-bay or go to the swapmeets as a buyer and buy the real good deals to resell than it is to spend a day loading, a day getting there, motel room, gas etc. and paying for spaces. Only to have site see-ers with nothing better to do with their day and those that want everything for near nothing. Rod

Love it or Hate it...Hershey is for people who do not have the Internet!!! Buyers and sellers alike.
It is expensive to go to Hershey (or any other place for that matter) Add up your travel time, all vehicle expenses, hotel, food, parking, pain medication and time before you buy any parts. So did you really save $3.00 on a Model A Door handle???

But, I do agree you must experience it ONCE.

Well, the thing about Hershey is not what you can buy from Bratton's or Mac's or find through an E-bay search. Hershey is giant piles of rusted crap that just might contain the concentric off beat widget you need to complete your project. Plus a ton of really cool finished cars so i can see where that widget fits.

Just like a library where you find something great to read on a completely different topic you were looking for, Hershey is full of stuff you didn't know you were looking for. You can't do either on-line.

Full disclaimer-I live only 80 miles away and I like walking a lot.

Hershey is an experience. You won't find anything like it on eBay. I spend a lot of time on the internet, but I come here to enjoy the adventure of finding s decent deal on used parts, to look at LOTS of cars, and to talk with the vendors that know so much. And to sell a few things, too. :)

I find on eBay, with some exceptions, I pay twice as much for a part and get half what I expected. At Hershey I can haggle the price and get exactly what I expected as I hold it in my hands. Plus you'll never get the Hershey experience on eBay; that is priceless.

We noticed the decline this year too. Sad,as this was #37 for me! One thing to note is the average age of the attendance....at least 60 ish. That's what dooms this as we knew it but it will, and has, morphed.
Like me,the supply of early ford, particularly Model A, is finite.
Still a great time and camaraderie. We meet up with friends that come from all directions and go eye-to-eye!
We did cut out early this year due to weather. But will try next year God willing!
Brent is correct, the roi is slipping for many of us. Fortunate to have traveling buddies that split up costs.

Never been to Hershey, something always seems to come up that takes me in another direction from family to job to you name it.

Back in the 70's I was planning on going and never did, got talked out of it,because an antique car friend who was a WWII vet said 'Why? You won't be able to afford anything anyway!" (He never went himself) so I guess price is always relevant----could you imagine the selection of NOS Model A stuff at the prices they wanted back then, that seemed so high? People would be beating each other up to get their hands on that stuff today:p

Wondering why Brent is Not at Hershey???

Well, ...wondering why this posting above, --nor SheilaV is not listed on Fordbarn any longer? I thought I also saw a recent link to their pictures at Hershey. I can not find it either. Did they disappear or am I just overlooking it?

.

I vend at Hershey whether I make money or it costs me. The friends I see once a year, the parts, the cars, the atmosphere. It's the "Hershey Experience" I never tire of.
