Help with 30 coupe body question

I am helping a friend with some restoration work on a 30 coupe. I have posted 2 pictures of areas we have questions about. He took a lot of pictures before and during disassembly, but couldn't find any of the two areas we have questions about. The first picture is of the outside of the top of the drivers door post (hinge side) where it meets the front of the panel over the door. There is a gap between the door post and the panel over the door where the screwdriver is pointing. The question is: Should this area be tack welded together or be left as is? It seems like it should be tack welded to finish it nicer, but we can't tell if it was tack welded before he took the car apart. The second picture is of a pair of brackets he can't remember where they are installed. He thinks they were used inside in the area of the back part of the quarterpanel windows. If anyone can remember when they were restoring a 30 or probably a 31 coupe the answers to the 2 questions. Any help would be appreciated.

W,

I am nearing the completion of my '30 cpe, and the first picture you show of the door section does not connect on mine. As for the small brackets, I'm not sure unless they go up under the headliner which I just completed.

By the way, is that metallic blue..?

Good Luck

I think the blue is just some paint testing on the car. I really don't know what the fellow I was helping was trying to do. 98% of the car is in gray primer and still need some bodywork.

The pictures are kind of grainy. Maybe I can get the fellow to take some better pictures so the small brackets can be seen more clearly.

Are you saying the space between the door post and front of the panel above the door has a permanent small gap when finished and no tack weld? Would it be possible for you to post a picture of the same spot on your 30 model A?
Thanks for the response.

The brackets go to the top at the back were the body side meets the rear window panel .the slot goes at the end of the body at the top of the seam the rest
hangs out it the corner of the top were the tack strip is

I must be missing these brackets. This is a picture of my 30 coupe during dismantling things. Ignore the top wood as it was an incorrect replacement performed at some time in the car's history.

Marshall,
What location is the bracket supposed to be at?
Thanks
