help what did i do??

Bought a v860. It ran rough. Checked the cylinder psi. 50-55-32-30-72-60-0-35. Opened her up. Lapped all valves, one at a time. Reinstalled heads. Psi 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0. Opened her up again reground length of valves to get .010-.015 gap. Reinstalled heads. Psi 30-30-35-35-30-30-0-30. Used old head gaskets. Torque per spec. Will not start. Psi checked with battery turning engine. Did I screw her up? What can I do? Thanks. Randall

That zero that you have in the seventh position of each series tells me that the problem is probably not valves. (That is, unless you are the world's worst valve grinder.) Did you try a compression test with oil in the cylinders? Did you hold the throttle open while cranking? Used head gaskets aren't a good idea, either.

A flathead doesn't always need compression on all cylinders to run.

Try doing a leak down test.

check valve timeing sounds like a bad gear .

You may have a broken ring on that one. Rings can rust up into the lands and not move like they should. They may come loose eventually and they may not.

squirt some oil in the cylinders... if the compression jumps significantly you have a ring problem

Bad gear would affect every cylinder, not just a few!
