Help Needed V8-60 I.D.

Hi i picked up a 60hp Flathead v8 the other day trying to figure out the year it's the full cast iron block but has the oil filler tube coming out from the oil pan on the drivers side towards the front! Their is no hole in the rear of the bell housing where the pictures online i have found all have tube in rear. Any help on this would be appreciated..

where is distributor ? 2 water pumps or 1 ? type of carburetor or number of bolte to hold it on ? oil filter ?

I think all 37 - 39s had the filler at the rear. The 40 had the filler on the fuel pump stand like their big brothers.

After looking closer somebody welded the filler tube into pan! The #s on the head read 52-6050-c.

Looks like a 40 engine with a 37-9 intake and 46-8 distributor.

Thanks Dick for the info now i need to find the correct intake and another pan!!
