I've looked for it too in my wheel references and have come up with nothing. My 1953 Kelsey-Hayes catalog shows a similar hub cap mounting, but not on a wheel that looks exactly the same, and not in a 15" x 5" size. Have you looked for numbers or a manufacturer marking on it? Few, if any, of the vehicle manufacturers produced their own wheels. Instead they sourced them from either K-H, Budd, Motor Wheel Corp, or (later) Accuride. If you find numbers I can maybe find a reference for it. Stu

ty stu,
i have 2 other wheels that came on my forty that i id as internationals while cleaning them i found Kelsey Hayes on the inside ill look at this one but there was rust on the inside so may not find any markings.

I can't identify the wheel, but the three slots may be for spring clips that hubcaps clipped onto, instead of the nubs that were formed into the wheel itself.Just a guess.

Agree. My 1953 K-H catalog shows cross sections of wheels having that type hub cap mounting and they include rivets that hold the clips in place. Stu

I also had a Henway & this wheel definetly weighs 6-7 lbs more than the Henways 16" wheel this is 15" & has a thicker bead, 37 coupe being a machinist you should know that, allowing it to hold more water for emergency's when traveling in the desert & southeast U.S. so get your chicken stats in order oh oh the Henways first year of production was 1962 was a 5 on 4 claw this is 5 on 4 1/2 circa late 40's early 50's & this aint no chicken ****, cluck, cluck cluckcluck cluck & the beat goes on.

bob i spent an hour looking for studebaker wheels & the closest photo i found wasnt close enough to see the "bottle" cap impressions it was said to be from 49-59 studebaker 1/2 t p/u does yours have the 3 slots for clips & the bottle impressions?

I think the wheel is for a Mopar, sometime in the '60's/70's, possibly a pickup... From my experience, Ford and Chrysler cars from about 1950 use the same bolt pattern..
The Mopar wheel that 'Macs67' posted in his pix is for a '39-49 Dodge/Plym/Chrysler.
Mopar eliminated the internal spring clips in about '49-50 just like GM and Ford did. Actually GM wheels through '52 have internal spring clips for the hub caps..
