This is my first time on this fourm, I spend most of my time on the Model A site. However, just picked up a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 project. 351 windsor Auto. Was wondering if anyone here has a recomendation on putting headers on my car and if so what are the best ones?

Check a mail order place like Jeg's or Summit. They each have a large selection. Unless you're going all-out racing, 1 5/8" tubing diameter should work.

Welcome aboard. Headers are just not worth the effort for a street car IMHO. Get the stock manifolds cleaned, coated and re-install them for years of trouble proof cruising.

The 351 has a different firing order than a 302, so you may want to take some advice with a grain of salt. The passenger 351 W cast exhaust manifolds were nearly a header from the factory. They were often used on a 302 to help them run better.

Most are foreign made junk today. Best bang for the buck are Hedman Elite, long tubes. If you get shorties or tri-y, you might as well stick with the stock manifolds
