Hello From the Netherlands

I am new to the Ford Barn and thought it appropriate to introduce myself. I am FordJW, Jan-Willem Adams in real life, and own a Classic Cars parts business (Adams Classic Cars) in the Netherlands (Europe). We specialize in classic Ford parts with Model A and early Mustang being the main models for which we stock parts. Aside from those models we stock parts for Model T, early V8 and general restoration parts.

I came across the Ford Barn a few weeks ago, registered and already learning a lot about early Fords from your posts.

I hope to find answers here in the future for problems that my customers, or I, may have when working on the old Fords.

I donot own a Model A (yet) but do own 3 66 Mustangs, all 289 V8's, one running, one that I am restoring at the moment and one a future project.

Thank you for this great web site, I am sure I will check in on a regular basis.

Welcome! The Netherlands is one of my favorite countries. I haven't been to Putten, but have spent some time nearby in Amsterdam, a beautiful city.

Welcome to this BBS on behalf of another Dutchman now living in Canada for the last 5 1/2 year.

Welcome, we were in Amsterdam this past December and my wife & daughter in April too. She was bummed-out not being able to find VanHouten chocolate there!

Roger, van Houten was a old brand name in Holland, the company integrated with others and they don't make chocolate anymore in NL . The company name however was sold and survived elsewhere .

Welcome to the Ford Barn.

I checked Wikipedia and learned that Holland is really a region of the Netherlands. For some reason I thought Holland was a county itself. My relatives traveled to the US from Amsterdam in the 1600's. I hope to visit your country some day.

Welcome to Ford Barn. Hope you get that "A" soon.

Another "shirt tail" Dutchman. My father came from Jisp, near Amsterdam in 1910. The Kroon family has been traced back in the NL to at least the 1600's. Have been there a few times and yes you do have a very beautiful country.

Hope your business adds much to the enjoyable hobby for other Model A'ers in NL.

BTW Gerard, how is everthing up North?

I knew they made chocolate here in the US but didn't realize that they didn't in the Netherlands. She did buy Van Houten cocoa in Amsterdam.

van Houten's cocoa is the best! But hard to find and expensive when you can find it.

Thank you all. It's always interesting to see how many Americans have some sort of lineage to the Netherlands and, when in the USA, to see Dutch inluences in there.

Van Houten cacao powder is still available but I am not too sure about chocolate bars.
