I have a heat gauge problem on my 55-272. Needle goes to cold when switch is on, when started will gradually go to hot as you drive it. Checked it and it's not hot, it runs 160 right where it should be. Put in a new sending unit and ran a new wire from it to the gauge with still the same results. It calls for a sending unit in one bank and a 2 terminal thermal switch in the other but it doesn't have the thermal switch. Would it have to have the thermal switch to get the proper reading?
