Headlight Switch body housing

Been trying to get the headlight switch body housing back on the bottom of the steering column. Every time I get it back on I find that the switch on the steering wheel does not work correctly. How can I get it to line up correctly

There are tabs on the horseshoe on the bottom of the horn rod. They fit into slots in the wire connector. (I know, that is not the correct nomenclature, but you know what I am talking about.) Put tab A into slot B. I am pretty sure it only goes one way.

Maybe the pronged thing at the end of the control rod is 90º off. Get the switch in the off position and make sure the the pronged thing would fit with the steering wheel light lever stright down.

the thing with the two prongs to operate the switch is the "spider" . the two legs of the spider are the same size so the horn rod could be 180 degrees off. The square mounting for the spider on the end of the horn rod also allows the spider to be mounted 90 degrees off.
