Headlight sockets

I'm probably the only one having trouble with my headlights flickering going down the road. Never had any problems until I replaced my bulbs with new LED's. I like the new LED's real well but I've got a problem with the bulbs fitting lose in the sockets. I've tried to reform the sockets a little and think I've got them fitting tight but in a few days I've got the same old problem again. I'm going to replace the sockets again and see if that curses it, If not I guess I'll just have to stay out of the dark.

You are not the only one, i went back to normal lights because of this. New sockets, soldered ground connection and bending the sockets for better connection didn‘t cure it, the LEDs will just flicker if there is just the slightest problem.

It is the LEDs themselves, not your sockets/wiring. The LEDs don't like the lower voltage ~6 volts. They work fine on a 12 v system.

I thought LOGOLites had rectified that issue.

If that's the problem, try a 6-12 volt convertor. Just for the lights.

LEDs use much less current than the stock headlight bulbs, so your electrical paths to & from the battery need to be in excellent condition (low resistance).

Your problem is actually very common when switching Model A headlights to LED bulbs, so you’re definitely not the only one dealing with it. The issue usually isn’t the LEDs themselves but the way the modern bulbs fit the original sockets and the sensitivity of LEDs to poor connections.
Some LED bulbs are simply not dimensionally identical to the original 1158/1154 style bulbs, so certain brands fit poorly.
Switching to a different LED brand sometimes fixes the problem instantly.

I have Logo Lite brand in mine and I don't have any issues going down the road. 1 of my 3 cars flicker at idle but stops as soon as I rev it up. I have my generators set to about 5 amps output and that's enough to still charge the battery with them on.
