Headlight socket tab

Where is the tab on the headlight light socket placed, pointed left or right when facing the headlight and is it the same for both sides
1931 tudor
 
The tab is to the right, as you look into the lamp (i.e. it points towards the driver's side).
The two headlights are identical.

BTW: I bought some "Goddard's Silver Dip" recently, and I was impressed by how much it improved a couple of very tarnished headlight reflectors I had. The active ingredient is "acidified thiourea".
