Headlight, parking light, top or bottom?

How does the reflector mount in the headlight? Is the parking light bulb in the upper half of the headlight or in the lower half? Thanks!:)

Greg, is correct, parking top center. Maybe someone could explain the high, low beam part. Does the high beam filiment go on top ?? how do you tell which one is the 50 CD of the 50/32 bulbs, I thought they looked the same when not burning. Can you read the resistance with a ohm meter to tell.

Original reflectors will be marked "Top" in the rim. The parking light goes to the top.
Regular headlight blubs can be installed either way to correct the high and low beam filiment and have them both the same.

Both Chuck's and A-jays questions are timely for me also as I was just out on the driveway converting the lamp connections to a more stable form and these questions came to mind.

The high beam filiment is in the center line of the reflector. The low beam goes above the center line.

Might I suggest going to http://www.abarnyard.com/workshop/workshop.shtml

There is a whole lot of info there.

Parking lamp atop.

[Hint: Re due the electric wire for parking lamp long enough to withdraw the reflector from the headlight can and be able to set the reflector on the headlight bar, leaning against the radiator. Give one room to mess around with the bulb and socket without disconnection of the wiring.]

[Additionally I neverseaze that spring clip on the bottom of the headlight can so I can flick these fasteners open or closed easily with my fingers.]

Upper filament 'ON' for low beam.
Lower Filament 'ON' for high beam.

Other wise bulb is upside down or socket is wired upside down.

Both filaments are horizontal when pushed into and turned into the bulb socket. A tiny little tang fits into the reflector to orientate the socket for proper bulb placement.

skip.
