Headlight and cowl light eyebrows

Anyone know of a source for the little pieces that fit the top of a headlight and cowl light. Some have colored glass balls in them.

Not sure if these guys are still in business, but they used to carry stuff like what you're asking about. As far as I know they do not have a website, so best to call.

Were these "eyebrows" an original factory option? They look like after-market add-ons to me. Do they have any function at all.

They were not factory. There were several variations. Mostly for looks, some claim it gets more light on the road. Some had small colored glass marbles mounted on the top so that you could tell if the lights were on. I never understood that. If it was dark enough for the marbles to work, it was dark enough to just look ahead and see light!

I made a set for my Coupe from 0.020" thick stainless steel sheet. I used jewels from a vintage reflector, but you can use marbles.

Don't quote me on this, but I thought if you could see a bright glow from the marble it was meant to indicate that your high beams were on. Others might know for sure.
