headlight amps

The 32/32 bulbs will draw a total of about 8 amps. My car has the 32 bulbs and they and the taillight draw about 8 amps. BTW, I have very good light with this setup and nice original reflectors. The 52 bulbs will draw about 12 amps, which the generator can handle.

At 7 volts 32cp lamps draw about 4.3 amps each. If you have 21 or 50cp lamps the current will vary proportionately. FWIW, here's a ROUGH watt to rated cp list: 2 W= 3 CP 6 W= 6CP 10 W= 15 CP 16 W= 21 CP 25 W= 32 CP 35 W= 50 CP

I also have 2 tail lights, they might draw another 2or3 amps? So I should set the generator output around9 or 10- so with the lights on its just over 0 or 1?

That would be a good setting, but then for daytime driving set it back to 2 or 3 amps. Not many people mess with setting the third brush for different driving conditions, and an electronic voltage regulator takes all the guess work out of it. One less thing to have to mess with and makes driving a little easier.:)
