headers

I cant see alot of difference in running stock manifolds with duel exhaust and running headers like in the picture,
they are both running all 3 pipes into one of the same size, unlike a regular header where all the pipes go into a large collector.
so does anyone make flathead headers to fit a f1 pickup that have collectors ?
thanks guys..

Go on EBAY and put in Ford flathead headers and you will see quite a few with collectors for many different applications

YES; "SANDERSON" headers, REDS also offer a good flow pattern.... headers don't get us started on headers , almost as bad as which oil do you use ?? your stock header is all most the worst you could use ( there's a big can of worms ) mainly because it transfers heat to the engine block, cooled water from the radiator back to the engine and there's the stock header full of hot gasses so close to the block, a good tube header is away from the block and moves heat away too. Something to think about, ...AND the tube is smooth inside, not so with your stock header, smooth will move the exhaust gasses out, with less back pressure .... same reason some here run straight pipes, " less back pressure " there's more, but that should hold you for now.......OLD.....BILL

Who would run pretty chromed up flathead or a pooped up one with out headers? NOWONE. BUT, there has been dino test by someone on the barn, I think maybe JWL or somebody on stock exh manifolds and headers and the isn't a dame bit of differance on the dino. But my hot rod has to have headers. Walt

It was JWL. In his book, he states that (as the result of many dyno tests) a pair of headers and duals gives very little difference in torque between them and a stock single pipe system, within the flathead's practical street rev range. Of course, they sure look and possibly sound much better.
Sorry Old Bill... I dont buy the heat thing, the exhaust passages already come between cylinders, how could the stock manifolds make that situation any worse?

I used Speedway center dump headers on my '48 LHD F1. Had to redo the left rear head pipe to clear the steering box but otherwise fit fine. Had them Jet Coated. Look and work great.

I run a set of Tatom's full length tube headers on my 40 they do collect in one collector under car like a tube header suppose to very nice header
