Headers for a '36 Sedan

I've found the tight tuck headers from Patriot will clear about anything although I haven't installed them on a 36. They're available from Speedway Motors and other sources. I've seen them on ebay for about $50.00 more than you can buy them from other suppliers.

I have a '36 Deluxe Fordor that I would like to put headers on. It also has a '37 block. Has anyone used these headers from Red's?

It's a tight fit next to the steering box and was wondering if these would fit. Any suggestions about going around the battery box would also be welcomed. Thanks guys, Ed

Ed, i have a 36 pickup, with Red's headers, and they fit perfect. This pickup was built in 1960, with a later model steering box, juice brakes, and a 59L engine. My battery was relocated to the firewall, and the pedals are from a 39 ford. Call Reds, i'am sure they have headers to fit car.....Ed

I have a 36 3 window coupe with a 59a block. I installed a set of Red's headers in my car. There is no clearance problem what-so-ever. I had them powder coated prior to installation. The exhaust ran throught the stock battery box. I use a dry cell battery that fits in the battery tray with clearance from the exhaust pipe The dry cell is an Oddesy with 925 CC amps which will spin that flathead starter.
Good luck
Bill

Ed: I have a set on my 35 Fordor. I have a 39 steering box and there were clearance isues. We dented the header in about 1/4 inch and all is good. Dave

Ed - I have them on a '36 Cabriolet with a '37 steering box - no issues at all. I cut out the battery box and relocated the battery behind my front seat.
