Head Torque

How many times should you torque or retorque a newly installed head?

Following initial instalation sequence I retorqued after heat and cool cycle twice. I then retorqued again at 400 miles. It to my suprose took a little tightening the last time. Shouls I now leave it alone? I have a tendancy to fix things til they break and don't want to screw this up.

Hi Ray!
I usually tighten till it doesn't take any more. Usually only 3 or 4 times will do it.

Carl - Thanks for the input. Any chance you will be Oskosh or Marquette for the national meets? Teri will be driving the coupe to both.

No, I won't be at either one. I'm having trouble staying up with Alaska events as it is.
