Head Removal...Humor Me

PS also move it back and forth don't have to try to just take it out in just one way ,,,, if you can get the wax down the threads move it back and forth let it cool down and heat it up and add wax ,,,, let it cool,,,,,, do it several times, and take your time on it its not a race to get a bolt out

Most of these problems with rusted studs can easily be avoided in the future.

The solution is simple ... USE antifreeze with distilled water in cooling system instead of plain water.

It is really that simple.

Distilled water prevents another problem, the white calcium deposits which clog radiators.

The rusted stud problem starts when water from the water jacket leaks into the area between the studs and the holes in the head.

If antifreeze leaks into stud area there are no rust problems.

Then over the years the studs are rusted to the holes in the head and you then have the mess that folks are dealing with now.

My engines have had antifreeze and distilled water for the last 60 years. Never a problem with rusted studs. Heads comes right off ... no problem.
