Head Question

I now own 2 flathead engines. The one in my 48 sedan has the left head that is stamped 59AB, and the right is a 59A. Is this normal? are they both the same basically. My other flathead has one head stamped EAB, the other is blank, just the Ford emblem stamped at the bottom of the head. I'm assuming the engines were rebuilt at one time, and the builder just used 2 known good heads, is that a safe assumption?

You're probably fine... The 59A head may be a bit lower compression. I would compare volume if the heads were off. I would leave it alone if the engine is a runner.
