Head gaskets

47 flatbed

I've got a 59ab. Found oil puddle under truck and antifreeze. Oil is seeping out under oil filter housing top bolt. It looks like gaskets are the culprit? Want to get opinions on gaskets. I also have a set of 99t heads on my 39 motor. Are these the heads better than my stockers that are milled slightly (enough to true up)

oil filter top bolt should have a copper washer. leaking head, if it not leaking into the cylinders, I would retorgue the bolts and use a block sealer of you choice to try before removing head. I use BEST head gaskets with great results

Thanks for best type of gaskets. I think I'll order a set anyway. Hopefully torque down may help. It just started to leak wasn't a progressing leak. Just a 12" diameter puddle one morning

I use metal gaskets coated with copper coat torked retorked set for a day, run and retorked. The 59AB heads are much better than those 99T heads.

99T heads are for a 239ci truck engine and will probably reduce the compression of a 211ci flathead by a point or better. You have to measure the combstion chambers when making this kind of move.

Torqued heads down and went for a cruise so far so good. New rubber gasket under filter bolt that's good too. Now just a gasket for the big oil drain plug.
