Thanks for all the replys guys,that has cleared up that question,my next one is, what is generally concidered the crushed thickness of a head gasket?Just the normal ones that come in a gasket set.Thanks in advance,Tony.
We usually clean an old head gasket well,install and torque the head to get the absolute clearance.Be careful,though.Some head gaskets are thicker than other.What Tony said,.050 is generally correct.
