head bolt sealant

A friend just screwed an 8ba together and has a lot of the head bolts leaking coolant. what is the best thread sealant? I know this subject has been posted in the past, but don't remember when.

Permatex high performance thread sealant. PX 56521. Use as directed. That will seal the threads but your leakage may be coming from the head gasket and not up thru the threads. Try the thread sealant first, re-torque and if still leaking it sounds like a gasket leak. John

Permatex Aviation sealer does it best doesn't harden.It has been used for years.

put some sealer in the water, let it run!! It will seal itself. I use Barrs Leak, works for me and my flatheads
