HCCA Holiday Excursion

Is there a known number of participating cars? In a text conversation with another Fordbarner, he said it appeared to be many hot rods & newer cars (-after 1932) participating. Just curious how those cars are participating, -or whether they were just showing up and following behind the older cars without officially being a part of the Excursion.

I was told that there was a bit of a cruise in beforehand, including Jay Leno with his Chrysler turbine, but they didn't go on the tour. I bet there were a few newer cars that participated, regardless.

The cruise starts about 9:30am. If you're not there by 7am you'll find it hard to get a spot. There were probably 200+ cars on the tour. Yes some late model or hotrods are seen leaving and along the route. When you arrive the south part of the lot is set aside for the modern/hotrods and they have the north set aside for older cars only. But since it's a public lot they really can't say where someone decides to park.
There is a guy at the exit passing out the route guide and he only gives them to cars that meet their criteria. Along they route you pass a whole slew of people who have come out to watch and film the cars going by.
The route midpoint is a park where they serve donuts and coffee (donations accepted). I was glad this year they had some 3X Tshirts printed up. (they are still using the artwork done by Disney's Ward Kimball many years ago) From there they go to North Woods Inn for lunch and then to a members house for dessert.
I was surprised Leno showed up in the Turbine. It's not like he doesn't have a 100+ cars that fit the rules.
