This is a holley from a mid 40's ford, or so i was told. I was wondering if anyone had run one like this before. I bought it to go on a future speedster project, but i will most likely run it on a 4 door for a while to see how it does. Let me know if yall liked it, or not if you have used one.

if its a holley 94 , it is a great little carb . i have a friend running 6 of them on a blower . he loves them & cheaper than a stromberg ! i think youll like it ! ...... steve

Logan;

I don't think its from the 40's, pic #3 shows a vent for the carb bowl, that's more
like a late 60's threw mid 80's. Best guess.

thanx for the help guys. Steve its not a 94, but i wish i had one, had a stromberg 81, but traded it. dudley that helps alot. I pretty ancious to get this on a car to see what it does, but someone told me (no names) that these run to rich? One guy said they run pretty good in texas, but when you get in the mountains, it runs way to rich. But the car its going on has over sized modern valves so that should help a little? right? I think it will work great for what im going to use it for, i just wanted more opinions so i could decide whether i will for sure use it or not.

Logan;

If it's fat use split shot to plug the jet, then redrill with wire size drills, when you find the
correct size solder the jet and drill.

Good luck, it should work fine, Dudley

it off a ford falcon , comet or similar 6 cylinder. i toyed with one somewhat but it wanted to load up bad at idle . never went further with it...

Sure hope you made a good trade on that 81 carb. Those things are scarce and valuable !
MIKE :)

If it has any numbers other than Pat. numbers you might list them. I may be able to look it up in my Holley Manual. Most of the early Falcon carbs. I remember had glass bowls but I could be wrong?

That carb is from a 60s Econoline Ford Van.There were many people here in Denver where you got it, running these for a long while before the Webber 32/36 became popular. In fact they do not run too rich even at this altitude.A good friend here has over 45000 happy miles on the exact same set up on his 31 Sedan delivery.Driven to many National meets and long tours.Good luck! It was an unrebuilt 81 carb on ansen intake, and i traded it for a running weber carb with intake, and linkages. I know its rare, but i didnt have money to rebuild it, and a weber is what i really wanted to start with.

Thanks for the info phil, you wouldnt happen to know how much H.P. this thing is going to add do you? or better yet will i be able to feel the power change like i can with the weber.

A couple years ago I adapted a Falcon carb, Ford not Holley ( NAPA gave me the choice and I just picked Ford), to my S/W T/S. The logic: Model A = 200.5 CID-Falcon 6 = 200 CID. So, if the engines are the same cubic inches then the carb must make the same CFM's. I made my own intake manifold so I could keep my Autolite heater manifold. Bottom Line: It has just tiny bit more top end than the "B" that I was running, but it idles down to about 400 RPM and idles smooth as silk. I'm very pleased with it.

Larry;

Probably not, but the Falcon carb worked ok 35 years ago. Have you flowed an
A carb? I'm betting 100-125 cfm. I thought 2, 1.25 or 1.5 SU's would be a good
set-up, for a sporty engine.

Do any of you ever consider your engine's volumetric efficiency at peak torque RPM and maximum speed RPM before selecting these carbs?

Larry B.

Larry come on now, none of us are that smart. I mean we are messing with model A's how smart could we be.lol no offense to you at all.

About the same carb I had in my 62 pickup, great carb, but did idle on the rich side. I swapped engines for one out of a 64 and used the 64 carb. I hated that one even worse. Rod
