Hard Valve Seats??

Ora Landis of Schwalm's Rebabbiting highly recommended ZDDP with his new engine. Didn't I hear that Rotella (At least I think it was Rotella) had the highest amount of zinc in it? It seems that we're all agreed that a zinc additive is good for an engine.

i do know in my chevette (flat tappets) it is widely recomended to dump a bottle of that STP oil treatment (~$3) or orileys auto parts store brand oil treatment in with the oil. there have been lots of camshafts dying and camshaft carrier bearings dying because of less zinc.

i cant say for either way for a model A but i would imagine it couldnt hurt a thing if its added. cheap 10W40 oil i use and $3 still less than $15 an oil change...
