Harbor freight wheel balancer?

I just balance mine on the car. Put them on the front; make sure the brake is good and free; give it a gentle spin; and mark which part of the tire consistently ends up at the bottom. Add weight to the opposite side. When the tire is balanced, it will stop in a random position with each spin. I then split that weight between inside and out.

I like Tom's rig. I might just make one of those myself.

Tom,

That's a neat tool, unfortunately for me -
my better-half would never let me balance my wheels in the living room. :D

Indeed a neat tool!

As to balancing wheels in the living room, for almost 2 years BEFORE I got my Model A, there was on prominent display -- in the living room -- a fully mounted 19" Model A wheel & tire, complete with lug nuts & everything. Then on my desk, there was a fully outfitted instrument panel, complete with all the gauges & switch. Those were my constant reminders as to the goal I was striving for.
