Started my truck today for the first time (after replacing all the wiring and setting the timing properly) turned the key pulled the choke and at idle it started in two turns and set there idleing perfect, without any adjustments. Not bad considering it hasn't ran in 28 years. I pushed the clutch in and pulled it into first (without a grind) let it out a little and it pulled forward, shifted to reverse (without a grind) pulled backwards (I'm in the garage with no radiator)
I just bought it last week from a 72 gentleman who had it for over 30 years, said he drove it a few times the first couple years (Title still in the guys name he bought it from) then started tearing it apart. Painted it 12 years ago including the motor, frame and runnning gear. The tailgate, hood and windshield in primer, new wood in top, 4 new Firestone whites, no wood in bed, missing a front fender (his employee ran over it with a dump truck) also missing running boards. It's been sitting in a heated pole barn since he bought it.
It's the cleanest 80 year old car I have ever seen, he said he did no body work to it, just stripped and painted. Also said there is nothing wrong with that motor, clutch, transmission or rear end. I guess he was right.
I"M PUMPED!!!!

I bought it like this (that's his front yard)
