Happy Independence Day to you all! Many have sacrificed to make our Country the greatest on the Planet. Long live the good ole USA!!!!!

No doubt that 250 years is a significant milestone for us, but also is a beacon shining for other parts of the world that are willing to make the sacrifices that were and are still being made for us all. I find myself becoming complacent at times as I have been free all of my life. Certainly Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth and others are reminders of the price of Freedom. When I went to kindergarten in 1950 the minds of folks were still fresh on the end of WWII, 5 years before. We started each day at school with the Pledge of Alligence to the flag of the United States of America. I was lucky that my father was a WWI veteran and he instilled respect for our Flag, our Service Men And Women, and all law enforcement people. Complacency is a very big and real threat to our freedom. Patriotism must be taught to our children so that we do not lose our freedom from without or from within as seems to be to me now.

The Bombs Bursting in Air!
Thank you for posting this Pete. While I have always loved old trucks, I got interested in old Hit n Miss type engines in 1986 and actually joined Branch 26 of the Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association. Once a month I took the ferry to the mainland for the meeting. Met a lot of great 'Old Guys' (us now), which I loved, but to me the best part was that every meeting started with the 'Pledge of Aligience'. Even back then this was a rarity, especially where I live.

Happy Birthday America - our 250th is a BIG milestone for our Republic.

Thanks to ALL those who helped define, document and fight for our freedom - as all the freedoms we take for granted were earned via the blood, sweat and sacrifice of our forefathers.

God Bless this Great Country!
