I found this tool in the garage with the initials H.F.T.S. and the part number 5-Z-4814. It looks like a tie rod or ball joint fork, but don't know for sure that's why I'm posting here for the experts to chime in. Would like to know the era for this tool and what it's used for. Also what the H.F.T.S. stands for. I've uploaded a couple of pictures; any help in finding info will be much appreciated.

The Trade school actually manufactured Ford Z tools as part of the training for students. I don't know whether that was some or all of them.
That number is not one of the few Z tools listed in the '28-32 parts catalog.

I think Ford only cataloged a few widely useful Z's like valve spring tools and hub pullers, and I suspect there are likely MANY we have never heard of.
I think there is little or nothing listed after about 1932. I know of one, across a WIDE gap of time...
Here I have a service bulletin on adjusting top irons and glass on '46-8 Ford convertibles, #50600 from July 27,1947. It shows a gauge for adjusting top bow to window fit, tool number 24Z-80394. 24Z!!
I think there were lots never reported to the world, used probably within the factory for anything needing some help.
