Grinding

I just bought a 50 ford custom, the flat head was rebuilt but not sure about the clutch and 3 speed. The question I have is when I am stopped I can some times shift into first with ease and when in second it will do the same when almost stopped and try to go into first, but most of the times going into first it grinds as though the clutch is out part way, is there any adjustments or am I missing something. I am not new to cars just new to something this old and not sure how was desgined to work.

hi Scott, welcome to the FordBarn.
Just a note to say, this section is for "Questions & Suggestions" to the Editor.

You should list your question in the "General Discussion" section here,
in the '32-'53 section, and hopefully some members will be able
to answer your question and help you..... good luck .;)

Shift in to second first, then low gear that will stop the gears from spining. Also clutch adjustment may be needed. good luck Gary

hi Gary, if you are going to answer peoples questions HERE in this section,
then, WHAT are the "General Discussion sections" here for

You are just confusing new members, as to where they need to go, so
they get ALL the members to see their questions and help with problems
they ask about, as most members don't come into this section to help.
