At Carlisle a guy had a shaped that looked like it fit a 38/39 piockup. The front had sliding doors to block the airflow. Never seen one.

Weather was perfect and theplace was jamed with visitors. A guy had a black 41 Ford business coupe called a special. I had never seen one.
painted lower grills and only one wiper. Truly plain Jane

You dont get around much do you. Ive had same pines winter front for a 36 a few yrs ago and a local fella had a 41 as you describe. they were the bottom line in 41 only .No other yr had 3 diff models. ken ct.

There is a very nice one here in eastern CT. Been in his family a very long time. No chrome on sides of hood and even the interior handles are different than other 41's

No ken, I don't get around much. Mom had a 41 with the jump seats. I learnt to drive in it. In college while chasing 3 wenches, a Dodge tricolor hit the 41. They junked the tricolor, and I drive the owner home, but the 41 was too bent... I cried. I only recently learned the the 41 Merc also had a jump seat version.

My first car was a 41 coupe as you describe. It had side mouldings the same shape as the stainless, but it was painted black. lower grills were painted black, one taillite, one visor, and no arm rests.

Hi,
the ford "special" was the least expensive car that ford mde in 1941. It only had one windshield wiper, one tail light, no radio, only the center grill was chromed, the upholster was a cheap cloth material, no bumper wing tips, jut a horn button, no horn ring, no clock, it had a long one piece pot metal inst. Pan. That was painted a rose beige it was only used on the specials. I think only with a six cyl. Engine. All-in-all, it was really made for comricial purposes like traveling salesmen and other where comfort was not considetred. I think most people that have them now installed a second tail light to comply with the law, installed a second windshield wiper, and some of the things that were not on the original car.

They were available with a V/8 also. My cousin had one about 1950.
