Grill shell height 30-31

Help an old Hot Rodder out guy's. I need the height of the grill
shell measured from the top of the frame right behind the radiator
to the lip of the grill shell that the hood sits on. I do not have a
stock rad to use for reference. I will be using stock hood on my
full fendered Coupe.

Thank's, Rich

Just kidding!!:p

I can't get a straightedge across the frame but on a spare radiator I get from the mounting flange to the top of the top tank, 27"

Mike :
My rad has a different mounting flange than yours. Is it possible
to use a level from the shell lip to measure off to the side of the frame?
I was hoping some one would have one with the engine out.

(I have helped restorers!)

Engine our would be the best way but the fenders also ride on the frame so a true measurement from the frame level to the top of the radiator (or the shell) is not possible for me at this time.

Even with frame webbing under the fender apron I would think it
would be within a 1/4". It would get me started.

Come on guy's it would be a good comparison with more than one
car.

Rich ,
I measured my 30 Town Sedan , putting a level at the top of the shell where the hinge rod sets and measured down to top of fender , and get 26 3/8" . Hope this helps .
