Greatset Disappointment

My greatest disappointment is......that I wasted 10 years fooling around with musclecars and that I didn't get into A's sooner........I guess everyone goes through a "phase"

My first model a i installed a borg warner overdrive (they were hot back then) well my wife and i went out for our first test drive. had to back up. a BIG NO NO WHEN IN OVERDRIVE. snapped the driveline and had to walk home (no cell phones back then) she was VERY unhappy with me and i think she never trusted a model A again!

My biggest disappointment was not with a Model A but with the local Model A club. It has split up two times (1992 and 2009)since being started 25 years ago. A few members let their ego and selfish personal agendas get in the way of the majority of the members. Now the club is all but dead with only 3 or 4 active members.

I have heard that about that club. It is truly a shame. You know, ...3rd time's a charm! :D BTW, there are couple of Fordbarners out west of your town that don't really need a club atmosphere for y'all to all go riding around together. ;)

I've had my Roadster since the late 60's and only really did the brakes correctly last year. WOW how it stops now. What is the great disappointment is how I miss those frequent excursions driving up someones lawn or into a field, when I had to stop unexpectedly quickly in the past!

You all know the other site... the one that sounds like our horn. The biggest disappointment in this hobby, to me, and I must say this, "In my opinion", is what has happened to that site and it's message board...

I don't know much about that site aside from it's outdated tech, but I've seen a few good tidbits of info posted there.

What's happened to that site is the same thing that has happened to a large number of clubs, strayed from it's original concept and dwindling membership. That's a topic for another thread but you can certainly draw some parallel lines between the Model-A car horn site and what some of the local Model A Clubs have progressed to.
