I see by the Great Race that they will lunch on June 25 on a farm in Purcellville, VA.
Are there opportunities to see the cars and crews, or help in any way?

In June of 2022 the Great Race had an overnight stop in Duluth MN. It certainly was worth going to see the vehicles come in. I would recommend that if you have the opportunity to be there, do it.

On Monday June 24th they will stop for lunch at 12:15 downtown Morgantown, Wv. a short trip for any one in southwestern Pa.

Clem, I believe the Early Ford V-8 Foundation will be entering a car in the race. If you are coming to the Central V-8 Meet in Auburn you can see the car.

About 4 years ago the finish line was at the LaMay Auto Museum in Tacoma Wa. I don't get out much, so any trip to the mainland is eventful, but I gotta say It was absolutely incredible watching them come in and they hung around for hours. It is well worth a trip to see them!

If you go to see the Race go to one of the overnight stay cities because the cars are AMAZING and many of the drivers and teams are willing to share their cars and stories with their fans and public. I talked to so many of the racers and their team members who had some great stories of the days race and how it is really hard at times to pass or get passed and have to fight the "RACING FEVER" because being on time is the goal not passing all the other cars. One of the teams told me to jump on in WHAT A BEAST this car is!! Can't imagine how it drives because it looks more like a 2 ton truck but these guys looked like they had a BLAST!!! here is the link to the stage we saw in 2023 https://www.greatrace.com/news/great-race-2023-day-7.html

We watched them arrive & depart San Diego some years ago and the variety & quality of the racers was amazing. Another story: We were heading home from the Colorado High Country Model A tour about 10 years ago in our '28 A roadster pickup and we were being passed by all the racers on the freeway coming in to Glenwood Springs, Co. As we pulled into town to look for a place to stay the night we ended up in the line of racers heading for the gathering spot and the fellow directing traffic motioned us to continue around the corner with the racers until he noticed we didn't have any race signs & stickers on the p/u. He did a double take & shooed us out of the line to a side street! Despite the race crowd in town we did find a suitable motel for the night and went to admire all the neat vehicles.
