Grease Gun special fitting-how does this work?

I have a standard hand pump grease gun from NAPA, and added the special Model A fitting at the slippery end to allow me to grease the original fittings on the car.

Cannot figure out how this fitting is supposed to fit on the Zerks (?) and push any grease.

Thanks for the help.

If you have original fittings you will need a stiff tube and not a flexible hose. You press the model A fitting on the grease fitting, and squeeze in the grease.

The original grease gun supplied with the car had a handle in the back of the gun that was pushed towards the grease fitting being serviced to operate. That action held the gun against the fitting. If you are using a modern gun with the lever on the side, you will need to forcibly hold the gun against the fitting when you pump, and will need a ridged pipe, not a hose.

If you use a one hand grease gun instead of the lever type, you can also use the rubber flex hose. The one hand gun cost more, but I like it better as it leaves the other hand free to hold the end of the hose at the exact angle you want.

I use a regular one hand grease gun with ridged tube and I use the standard zerk fitting that came with the gun and have no problem using it on stock Model A grease fittings
