I may have to rebuild the transmission in my 26 Tudor. What is the best reference material help do that? I have rebuilt many modern engines and trannys.
i have the green book in this picture but if i post the pages online it might be against some kind of rules? But the book is still available from the parts suppliers last i heard.
It may not be the best but it is probably comprehensive enough.
Aside from all the reg'lar busted knuckles and cursin'. read, and re-read these guys tutorials, especially on the alignment part. The Tulsa MTFCA is about the best research forum for overhauling specifics Ive seen.
OTOH... get the book and that will walk you through it. Farmer John used to do these on a dirt floor barn with an oil lamp in between milkings. The "Chaffin" books are pretty thorough. The worst part is finding/making some kinda special pullers. A lot of this stuff has been together for a century and therefor can really frazzle you! ws
The MTFCA also has videos to go along with the books. Those show you the work being done, of course, but for a reference while you're on the job the book is best because you can easily turn right to the page that applies to what you're doing.
