after 3 weeks of spraying the cylinders with pb blaster and tapping the pistons with a block of wood,,,,,, the little 60 hp broke loose and turned over.
i'm excited.

Great news!! You can also fill the engines with diesel fuel and let them soak.....always works for me.
Just got a 51 flathead running that was stuck about 12 years runs decent but has low compression. Also got a 38 flathead running that sat for 40 years.....it runs perfect!
These old engines are tough!

These stories are always good to hear. Too many times it takes a torch to cut stuff loose.

Recently, three of us broke loose a great '26 Studebaker which looks like it should go on to run fine. Others had tried, but I guess it was the combined effort of those fellows and us that finally succeeded.

The other day I pulled a Toyota Land Cruiser F1 (1970ish) "stuck" engine out of the back of my carport where it had been sitting for 12-15 years as a potential core. It was headed for recycling when I thought I'd take the valve cover off .... looked so good I took the head off .... as RBaker does, I poured the cylinders full of diesel.

Turns out to be a great engine. No ridge, pretty cylinder walls, nice valves.

So, be patient and don't give up on the old junk, especially those V8-60's.

Ford flatheads are tough when they really get stuck.
